The bank, fully licensed in December 1990, began its operations in June 1991 as one of the first joint-venture banks in Hungary. In 2001 BNP Paribas became the sole shareholder of BNP Paribas, Hungary Branch.
The presence of the BNP Paribas Group as a whole in the Hungarian market has been become increasingly visible since then: in addition to the products and services of Cardif, which deals with consumer loans and credit insurance, respectively, the fleet-management services of Arval, the custodian services of BNP Paribas Securities Services are now also available in Hungary.
